Dear Mr. Richardson,

I am writing to you because I have heard rumors about lengthening school years. I know that you are a great superintendent, and will make the right decision. I also know that there are many other students who don't want longer school years. Here are my thoughts.

One reason is that I think that kids need to have fun in the summer. Most kids like summer, and if you take away summer it will be like taking wings from a bird. If you take away summer it just doesn't seem right to kids since we didn't even have a say in the vote. Summer vacation is the time to forget about school. Didn't YOU like summer vacation as a kid?

The second reason I am writing to you is if you lengthen school it means that you don't want a longer break from your job, and do the things that you want to do. All of the teachers will be working in the summer when it is sweltering. I wouldn't want school employees working in the hot summer weather.

The third reason I am writing to you is that I think the kids should have a say in the lengthening school by a reasonable amount. Please consider what I have already said about the problem at hand. I think the teachers should also have a say in the school year lengthening the school years. You have the most power in our school so please make the right choice. By listening to the kids, and the teachers.

I know that you are a very good superintendent, but taking summer away come on that's just unfair. You are one of the best superintendant in the world. I hope you make the right decision in not lengthening school years. If you don't it's all right.
